After the 8.8 earthquake in Chile today and tsunami warning for the Big Island, I am grateful that this place I call home remained intact, and that the people there went unharmed. Mini tsunamis came about but aside from some flooding, no significant damage ensued (thank goodness the break wall was built after the tsunami of 1946 hit). Unfortunately, Chile suffers the most right now and prayers for friends' families there continue while we wait on getting word from them. May they be protected as my loved ones in Hilo were!
p.s. On a lighter note, Dad said that in the of midst evacuation, people were gathering in the highland areas where there were good views of the ocean, and were barbecuing and waiting to view the anticipated tsunami. sheesh! I can just hear the car radio reggae that was playing and beer cans that were opening while background warning sirens went off every hour. Gotta love da local peeps!

that warning messed up my saturday morning but I am grateful that it was much ado about nothing!
Me encantó leer este post. Aunque son malas noticias, no hay mejor sentimiento que saber que otros están orando por los que están nesecitando. Gracias hermanita!
