Can't believe he's gone...

Despite the controversy over this man and as Sad as his life may have been, Michael Jackson truly was a remarkable performer, and he was my first crush at the age of 5!I still remember vividly the day I brought my "Thriller" cassette tape into my private Baptist preschool and had my teachers play the Thriller song for us during free-time. We danced all over the place until one of our teachers heard the main ghoul's solo at which point she shut the recorder off and a unanimous "AAAAAAWWWWWW" rung out through the room. hehe. I also cherished my 6th birthday when I received a light pink cut-off sleeves tee from my mom with a huge pic of Michael, in all his glory, on the front and his name written in cursive to the side of his head. I wore that shirt until it bore numerous holes and needed to be thrown in the trash. Shoulda saved it, dang it! Anyway, I digress...

On his day of passing, I have to dedicate a post to him... may he rest in peace. I will never forget you, Michael... all your moves, your soulful, high-pitched cries, your one-of-a-kind voice and stage presence, your ability to touch nations with your music and charity, and the way you made me feel as a budding vocalist in preschool--like I could do anything and be anybody that I wanted to, especially when it came to singing. Thank you for inspiring me and thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Peace out, Brother!
