So, I've just been chillin' in the monterey bay area with hubby, max, and in-laws for the past week and and it has been a blast. Here are just some of the things that i love about being here in this location...
-the sunny skies and cool breeze
-the humidity
-the ocean
-various sea birds
-sea lions (we came upon about 100 of them just basking in the sun up on land yesterday)
-gynormous sea kelp that sways in the ocean which has a certain "calming" effect i have come to appreciate
-adorable sea otters
-the monterey bay aquarium
-comforting clam chowder at the wharf
-low tide pools that are my favorite playground, offering a world of discovery-- sea anemones, snails, crabs, shells, rocks, different types of cool algae and kelp, etc. i can play like a little girl for hours here.
-and the eucalyptus trees...mmmmmmmmmmmm, can you smell them? (they are my favorite trees)
and then above the bay area, you've got...
-artichoke town (best artichokes in the world)
-garlic town (i love garlic)
-and miles of leafy greens and strawberries on both sides of the road(in general, i love food and being around food that is growing)
Am I forgetting anything?? And if I am, that just proves my vacation to be even more of a bitter-sweet one that will end soon. :(
**pics coming soon!!

When you mentioned Artichoke and Garlic town, I don't know why, but the Garden of Eden popped in my head. Can you imagine what it must have been like?
Eve giving us a tour: "Avocados over here, then bananas just a few fields over, --When we were naming the fruits and veggies we just did it alphabetically as we came across each new items so that we could find them again easier-- pineapple and strawberry fields are off in that direction."
California has such a great growing climate, I often think it has a bit of Eden's magic there.
now you know why i'm never leaving.
Britt, ha! That DID sound like Eve giving the grand tour of eden. Funny. And eden or not, there is definitely something magical about this place!
