Mama's Day!

This is my Mama. She is pretty hard core, people. For starters, she was a bra-burning beatnik of the 60's. She grew up dirt poor as an only child and moved 11 times by the time she was 11 years old! She's a survivor of 6 divorces (4 of her mother's and two of her own). She endured years of racism in Hawaii! Once, she stood up to this obese, drunken man in Safeway as he gave the cashier a hard time and he turned and punched her between the eyes and broke the glasses on her face...AND she was holding my infant brother of only a couple months. How's that for hard core?!

She's done amazing things with her life, many of which required crazy amounts of faith in the Man upstairs. She taught me to follow my heart and to take the high road. She taught me what it means to believe in God and what being Christ-like is really all about.

She's traveled the world. Has met a ton of famous people... to name a few: Liberace, Elvis, Joan Crawford, Robert Redford, Bonnie Raitt, John Candy, Mickey Mantle, and Michael Jordan.

Her bedtime singing voice put Mary Poppins to shame! She'd sing stuff like Peter, Paul, and Mary and other awesome sixties tunes or maybe even older... cuz she's old. 66 years old!...in a month. ;) She is my best friend. She's a fabulous grandmother! She is an incredible woman that could write her own book and sell millions of copies. She is my mama! Happy Mother's Day, Mom/Granny Lynne!
