Top Ten most memorable moments as a first-year mom...

The next ten posts are dedicated to my son, David Maxwell. Since he turned one in July, I couldn't help but reflect on his first year of life, and the progress I've made as a new mother--and believe you me, I have made some pretty lengthy strides! ...which I'll talk about in a later post. ;)

My top ten most memorable moments were basically either "wow" moments, "oh no" moments, or "bahaha" moments and are not necessarily limited to any one specific event. (They also have no order of importance)

#1- Learning to read my baby: A "wow" moment

Do you see what I see? Most anyone can immediately spot the innocence in a baby's eyes. But it took me days upon weeks upon months to more fully comprehend and appreciate all the wonder and greatness that lies behind my son's gaze...

not to mention what the heck he's been trying to say without words...which can get pretty frustrating for both him and me. But after the first few arduous months of motherhood, which include hard work and unreciprocated love, come the abundant, emotional pay-offs. Take a look... I've learned

what makes Max laugh or smile...

fuss or fidget...

or even what piques his curosity...

Thank you for filling my days with moments like these, Maxwell...Mama looks forward to many, many more!

You do have a son! So cute. He is adorable. I guess it has just been too long since I don't know much of what has been going on with you. We should get together sometime to catch up on stuff.

Thank you to all you guys for heart-warming comments! I love hearing how much my son makes others feel good or brightens their day. Buckle up, though... I've got a pretty hairy post up ahead... and by hairy, I don't mean the kind on your head. ;)

Okay, so I know everyone says that "your son is cute," but you never know if they are just being nice. However, I am telling you that your son really is adorable!
